How To Vote In This Election

How To Vote In This Election

That’s right…I’m going to tell you how to vote in this election.  There are two things to consider that will keep you grounded in this crazy election season, two things that will cut through all the political pandering coming from both sides.

First, Vote like Christ is King and we are only voting for pawns.  I’m using a chess analogy here, but as Christians, we need to always remember that, regardless of the political system under which we live, it is God who puts the rulers on their thrones.  Too often we speak and act like God is non-existent in the realm of politics and government.  God established government for the good of mankind, and even a bad form of government or one with bad leaders is better than none (Rom. 13:1-6, 1 Pet. 2:13-14, 1 Tim. 2:2).  One who believes that God’s plan is thwarted when the opposing party wins, needs to go back to the scripture to see how God is sovereignly in control over every single molecule in this universe (Isaiah 46:10), including every single decision of man (God can be sovereign over sin without being culpable, but that is for another discussion).

Listen to Isaiah 40:15-17, 21-24, “Look, the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are considered as a speck of dust in the scales; He lifts up the islands like fine dust. Lebanon is not enough for fuel, or its animals enough for a burnt offering. All the nations are as nothing before Him; they are considered by Him as nothingness and emptiness.  Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been declared to you from the beginning? Have you not considered the foundations of the earth? God is enthroned above the circle of the earth; its inhabitants are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like thin cloth and spreads them out like a tent to live in.  He reduces princes to nothing and makes judges of the earth irrational. They are barely planted, barely sown, their stem hardly takes root in the ground when He blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind carries them away like stubble.”

Daniel 2 reminds us that God, “Removes kings and establishes kings.”  So yes, vote!  Vote and pray!  We enjoy that privilege at this time in the USA, but put the outcome in God’s hands because He will put the people in that He wants to use for His plan, regardless of how many sleepless nights you spend worrying about who is in Washington.  Trust in the Lord with all your heart…even in politics.

Second, Vote like God is watching…because He is.  Far too many people who name the name of Christ separate God and politics.  Do we stand with God where He has spoken, when we are in the four walls of the church, but follow our own hearts when we cast a ballot? Remember, the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked (Jer. 17:9).  Sadly, many groups that have “church” in their name have all but abandoned the inspired, inerrant, Word of God to fit in with this evil culture.  They are no longer churches, but false temples to a Satanic plan to destroy marriages, families, and countries.

It is clear that America has been under God’s judgment for some time.  One only needs to look at the progression of judgment in Romans 1 to see that we are ripe for the picking in God’s harvest of punishment as a country.  While this national fall and judgment is clearly part of God’s plan, the fact that many American churches have compromised on the gospel, supported the murder of innocent children, the redefinition of the family, the wickedness of the homosexual crusade, the demonic nature of the Marxist Critical Race Theory, and the insanity of gender confusion and grooming of our children, has led to this moral fall of America we see around us daily.  While the church has slept, the moral walls of this country have crumbled.

Romans 1 shows a progression that is clearly being fulfilled in America today.  Verses 18-23 speak of God’s wrath revealed from heaven on the wicked.  Verses 24-25 tell of how God “delivered them over in the cravings of their hearts to sexual impurity” (the sexual revolution).  Verses 26-27 speak of God’s judgment on “females who exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones,” and “The males in the same way also left natural relations with females and were inflamed in their lust for one another (the homosexual revolution).

But we have gone past that and are now in the final phase of God’s judgment on this nation in verses 28-32 where, “God delivered them over to a depraved mind,” a mind that doesn’t work, a mind that can’t tell male from female, a mind that thinks the worst form of depraved wickedness must be celebrated and those who refuse must be punished.

So what does this have to do with the election?  The very last phrase of Romans 1 says that, “Those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.”  So now we need to ask ourselves the following questions:  Does God mean what He just stated in Romans 1?  Are we “giving approval” if we vote for this wickedness to continue?  Is it hypocritical to say we stand with Christ and His Word, and vote for LGBTQ, pro-abortion, and gay marriage supporting candidates?  Should this not strike fear in our hearts if we defy the holy and righteous God when we cast our vote?

If we honestly ask these questions of ourselves, leaving behind our selfish motives, and purely think of what God demands of us, there is only one way to vote in this election.  Gone are the days when the two sides were more closely aligned.  Today the choice is clear in the area of morality.  Today the line has been drawn in the sand, and to choose to support this depravity is sin.  Today we must stop disconnecting God from our vote and examine ourselves to see if we really are in the faith, or if our own god is who we see when we look in the mirror (2 Cor. 13:5).  We had better vote like God is watching…because He is!

  1. Excellent. Most churches are more interested in filling pews (which helps their retirement) and not preaching Gods word 😢 Thank you for speaking truth.
